Sophie's First day of school..

When did Allie get hair? And when did Sophia start walking and understanding what I was saying?
Where did four years go?

Don't blink...

Pictures like these are great. Snapped in the moment, they are adorable. Ten years in the future...they are down right priceless.

Just the beginning...

Dear Allessandra,
Tonight I sat on the bed with you, brushing your hair out of your face. You asked for four stories, and I read five. You asked for water, and I fetched it willingly.  Like all those nights when you were so tiny.  When it was just you and me and early morning TV.

You were this wide eyed beautiful smiley baby, reaching for your warm milk.  I held you longer than I should have, cradled you and held your bottle while you wrapped your tiny fingers through mine.

Now I look at you, so long, and beautiful and so smart. You wont let me stay but a minute hugging you.

You ask me all these questions, like "when will  I be big?"
I hug you close and kiss your cheek, and you inform me that you "love daddy much more than me." I kiss you once more and pretend like I didn't  hear you.

You say it again.

And I tell you, "I love daddy too, and Sophia, and you very much."

And you seem pleased. Grateful, even.

You say, "Goodnight mommy, I love you to the moon and back."

And just so you know, I do too.
Always have, always will.

Weekend wrap up.

Last night was epic.

I honestly have never had better tasting food in my entire life. I am not a foodie, but lately after participating in the Whole 30 challenge I taste food differently.
I don't crave diet coke, but a glass of red wine, or a really good aged beer.
Weird, right?

Last night Josh and I drove to Athens to have our "Date night"

Athens is about an hour away, so of course we crammed as much "fun" as we could possibly think of.

Josh's idea was to go on a Beer tour. Mine was to go to an amazing restaurant.

There was literally a two hour wait- so Josh and I headed over to a Pub across the street. Josh proceeded to try every beer on the menu, while we waited for some friends to show up.

I had the most amazing food at Farm 255- I can't even explain it. Pork chops, egg in a glass, bone marrow! Epic. I think that it will forever be my favorite Date night spot.

My Friend Mary and her husband drove the 45 min out to Athens to join us, because the FOOD IS THAT GOOD OMG.

Such a great weekend!

Start of a NEW month! WOhoo

So February 1st proved to be a pretty good day.
I began my day cleaning as I went. I tricked Allie into helping me clean up, by making it a "race" and rewarding her with a special treat at the end of it.
P.S. the girl can clean. I mean, she honestly has some sort of gift for destroying a room and then being able to make it immaculate.

*House stayed pretty decent all day.
*Two new pictures were put up, including a collage of pictures that include Sophia.
* I started two memory boxes for the girls, putting in things like: what they came home from the hospital in, their tiny shoes, scrapbooks, baby books, and pictures of me pregnant with them.

*I threw away random art projects, that I really do not need to hold on to- (elbow macaroni and glue?..no thanks.)

*A trip to Home Depot is scheduled for this weekend to look at paint and cabinet handles.

All in all I am feeling pretty please with my progress so far!

This Month Goals:
*clean out girl's closet and begin a "Thread up" account /donate/sell/throw away clothes.
* Clean out our closet and do the same.
* Um, lets just clean out ALL the closets in my house and set everything I don't want on fire.
*Buy one new thing that is "us" to put in our home
* Choose new cabinet handles and put them up...like all in the same day.
*Follow the "Fly Lady" cleaning schedule.
